The first randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study included 70 healthy adults aged 30 to 55 who experienced everyday stress and fatigue.
Participants received either placebo or 10 mg of Extramel® daily for four weeks.
The researchers used validated questionnaires to assess perceived stress, quality of life, fatigue, sleep-related symptoms and other aspects of everyday functioning.
After 28 days, the Extramel® group showed greater improvements than placebo across several connected measures.

Sleep troubles were assessed as part of a wider stress and fatigue questionnaire.
Daytime sleepiness was measured separately and did not differ significantly from placebo.
The findings therefore relate to sleep difficulties within the broader experience of everyday stress and fatigue, rather than to the treatment of insomnia or another sleep disorder.
Sleep is nevertheless one of the most relevant findings, because recovery influences how we feel, think and perform the following day.
What did the longer study add?
A second randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial followed 61 adults aged 29 to 60 for 84 days.
Participants again received either placebo or 10 mg of Extramel® daily.
The study assessed perceived stress, physical and mental fatigue, quality of life and cognitive performance.
Compared with placebo, perceived stress was significantly lower in the Extramel® group after both 28 and 84 days.
Cognitive performance was evaluated using the Stroop test, which examines aspects of attention, processing speed and cognitive control.
Performance improved by 13.9% more than placebo after 28 days and by 20.8% more after 84 days.
At day 84, perceived physical fatigue was also 9.4% lower compared with placebo, while quality of life improved to a greater extent.
The studies do not suggest that stress, sleep and fatigue have one simple cause or one universal solution.
They do show that a protected melon concentrate can be investigated across several connected aspects of everyday wellbeing rather than through one isolated endpoint.
The findings are especially relevant to Health Royals because both published studies used the same 10 mg daily amount found in the formula.
Why can 10 milligrams be meaningful?
Ingredient weight tells us very little when it is viewed without context.
Ten milligrams may appear small beside ingredients measured in hundreds of milligrams or grams.
